About SPEmet

Meet the Founder

Raquel Schwarcz - Young

SPEmet was founded by Raquel Schwarcz, a fraud, investigations and risk executive whose career has spanned frontline investigations, corporate misconduct, global payments and large-scale technology risk.

Most recently, Raquel led fraud & risk programs and fraud prevention products at Amazon, working across insider risk, payment fraud, account takeover, card testing, chargebacks, authentication quality and fraud operations across multiple markets.

She founded SPEmet to bring a different perspective to the AI era, one that starts with human behavior, real-world consequences and the operational realities of fraud, rather than technology for technology’s sake.

Her work has included identifying more than $200M in fraud exposure and loss opportunity, reducing account-takeover exposure by more than 95% in targeted programs, and leading global teams and complex fraud-control transformations.

That experience led to a recurring question:

Why do fraud systems become most certain after the adversary has already succeeded?

Project EMBER and EmberTrace grew from the search for an earlier answer.

Global Perspective

Why SPEmet exists.

After more than two decades working inside the systems fraud exploits, a pattern became clear: by the time traditional controls are certain, the adversary has often already succeeded.

As AI makes identity, voice, images and conversation increasingly convincing, the challenge is no longer just detecting fraud — it’s understanding how trust is created, manipulated and converted into action.

SPEmet was founded to move risk intelligence upstream, combining real-world experience with practical AI, governance and research to help organizations and individuals make safer, more informed decisions.

My Beliefs

Five principles for an AI-mediated world.

01

Identity is
not intent.

02

Authenticity
is not trust.

03

Trust requires
provenance.

04

Consequential decisions need friction.

05

Security must follow trajectories, not isolated events.
